The Multi-Academy Trust Board and the Governing Body work with the Executive Headteacher, the Head of School and the staff at St Alban's Catholic Academy to make sure the school provides a good quality of education for all its pupils. Governors have three main roles:
- to provide strategic direction for the school;
- to act as a critical friend to the headteacher
- and to ensure accountability.

Maria Farres Chair of Governors
is a parent and parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Maria knows that Church and families need to work together to provide the best possible Catholic education to our children.
As a parent of three children in the school she is able to support the school to strengthen the impact it has on all children. As a working professional Maria brings her analytical skills to her role as governor. Maria, has an in-depth understanding of leadership development in professional organisations and utilises her skills and experience to contribute to the schools’ mission
Fr. Bogdan Kot Parish Priest, Foundation Governor Governor with responsibility for RE and Music
The Foundation Governors represent the Bishop of the Roman Catholic diocese of Brentwood, and ensure that the school upholds the traditions of catholic faith in line with canon law. Foundation Governors form a majority of all governors.
Mr Kendal qualified as a teacher from Liverpool Hope in 1995, with B.Ed Theology and Religious Studies. Before becoming the Executive Headteacher of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Multi Academy Trust in Harlow, Essex (April 2017) Mr Kendal was a Headteacher for ten years in a one form entry Catholic Primary school in Hertfordshire. I have been in education for 23 years, always serving in Catholic schools. Mr Kendal is passionate about developing a love of learning, for children to learn to love themselves and to love others.
Mrs Black has served Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Multi Academy Trust for 13 years across Trust schools. Previously at St Alban's Catholic Academy since 2002, Anne-Marie has seen the growth of the Trust. Anne-Marie trained as a Secondary school teacher and has a passion for Maths and Assessment. She has a thorough knowledge of the education system and uses this understanding to secure high standards and strong outcomes for the pupils in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Multi Academy Trust
Angela Green has been a practitioner of Education serving in all age ranges from Primary school aged pupils to Adult learners. Angela believes in life-long learning. Angela truly understands the fundamental necessity of an excellent primary learning experience as the bed-rock of all future learning.
Angela various teaching roles ensures she is able challenge and further support all members of the teaching community of the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Multi Academy Trust. She brings knowledge and understanding of the challenges faith schools face to the Trust.
Colin Wood is the Site manager within St Alban’s and serves as Staff Governor. Colin brings his vast experience of premises management to bear when serving the community of Our Lady of Fatima Trust.
Sylvester Odame-Amoabeng is a Trainee Clinical nurse specialist in cardiology with an interest in education and research. He is a also visiting Teaching fellow at the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care at King's College, London and a tutor of math and science at GCSE level. As a committed catholic, he brings his experience in education and healthcare to support Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Academy trust as a foundation governed with responsibility for curriculum and home learning.
Dany Mathew, Governor
Is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and have been working in the oil, gas and petrochemical sector for 20years. Dany's daughter has been attending St. Alban's Catholic Academy since 2018 and joined the governing body in May 2023 as a parent governor to both learn more about the school and contribute to its continued success.
